Pregnant Katie Piper couldn't keep the smile off her face as she was snapped leaving TV studios after an interview to publicise her new programme.

The TV presenter, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend James, happily showed off her baby bump as she strolled in Salford.

She may have been wearing navy blue, but she revealed last month that the baby, due in March, will be a girl.

Accessorised with black heels and a leather jacket, seven months pregnant Katie stepped out in the Tiffany Rose maternity dress after her appearance on BBC Breakfast to talk about her new television special, Bodyshockers: My Tattoo Hell.

The show will investigate tattoo and piercing enthusiasts who have made extreme modifications to their body and come to regret their decision.

Katie announced her pregnancy in September, speaking of her joy after years of worrying that the disfiguring acid attack she had suffered might prevent her dreams of starting a family.

She told the Sunday Mirror: "I never believed this would be my future."

Despite being thrilled to welcome her first child, pregnancy has clearly not all been plain sailing for Katie. She complained of hunger pangs to her Twitter followers:

Katie, 30, first came to fame in the TV documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face, which told how the aspiring young model suffered horrendous scars when a violent ex-boyfriend targeted her in a brutal acid attack. The documentary showed Piper trying to rebuild her life and come to terms with her disfigurement.

Audiences loved her bravery and humour, and she has since become a regular fixture on TV screens, as well as writing an autobiography and several self-help books. She has since won awards for her charity work after launching the Katie Piper Foundation in 2009 to raise awareness of victims of burns and other facial scars.
