Racist Dad Killed Partner And Daughter - But Spared His Youngest Child

A racist father brutally murdered his partner and daughter – but spared his youngest child because she was 'a pure Aryan'.

John Miller used an axe and knives to carry out the attack on Sarah Laycock, 31, and daughter Abigail Miller, eight, as younger daughter, Amelia, four, cowered upstairs with her pet dog at the family home.

Miller, a BNP member, told police he had spared Amelia because she was 'Aryan' and had superior DNA.

At Leeds Crown Court, he was given a life sentence after pleading guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility over the killings which took place in Garforth, Leeds, on January 13 last year.

Mr Justice Coulson ordered Miller to serve a minimum of 15 years in prison.

Miller, 38, a cannabis user, carried out the killings during a psychotic episode, a court heard.

The court heard Miller told police he carried out the killings after hearing voices coming from his computer. He also claimed to have seen aliens and made a foil hat for himself to block out signals.

Miller went on a violent rampage at a nature reserve, attacking paramedics and police, the court heard.

Officers then went to the family's home where they found the body of deputy headteacher Miss Laycock in the kitchen, while Abigail was in the living room.

The judge said he was concerned it had taken too long for the case to come to court owing to delays in obtaining medical evidence.

Miss Laycock's family said in a statement: "Miller's welfare appeared to be a priority, while we have had to endure the wait for psychiatric reports. The strain, has been unbearable."
