Running In Style: All The Workout Gear You Need

For the runners among us, the days of throwing on a baggy tee and a pair of forever-old leggings are gone. Instead, your go-to workout outfit needs to be both stylish and comfortable if you want your look to say sporty-cool.

It's another good excuse to go shopping and upgrading your running gear is even better for getting really motivated - you'll definitely want to put your shiny new kit to good use.

Your running essentials? Think about investing in a good sports bra (Nike has amazing styles this season as do Hip & Healthy), statement leggings, a waterproof jacket (not even the unpredictable British summertime showers will stop you) and a running backpack.

The latter is for hardcore ladies who run to and from the office - because it has a laptop compartment.

Then there are the running shoes to consider. Selecting the right trainers is massively important - the right footbed, colour and tread will make all the difference so shop around and opt for the best.

We've got eyes on these adidas by Stella McCartney barricade shoes (£100), though Nike have styles to suit all - Flyknit IDs for a "bare-foot like ride", Nike Air Zoom Pegasus for "superior cushioning" - so try before you buy.

Take a look through this shopping edit for some running style inspiration - there are snazzy accessories to choose from too...
