X Factor and Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has flown to New York as his fiancée Lauren Silverman is in labour with their son, according to reports.
An announcement first appeared on the Twitter feed of journalist Dan Wootton, showbiz columnist for The Sun. The newspaper then immediately retweeted his scoop.
Wootton's first tweet claimed that Silverman had gone into labour - two weeks before her due date - and Cowell would therefore not be attending today's Britain's Got Talent auditions.

The next update, a few minutes later, added that Simon is currently on a flight to the US to join Silverman in hospital.
The Sun then reported the story on its website. Simon had previously spoken of his intention to fly out to New York for the birth, even if it clashed with his work on the ITV show, saying: "If it happens then I'll just have to go."
Simon may have rushed to join Lauren for the birth, but he's likely to be pacing the hallway outside rather than getting up-close in the delivery room. In September last year, Simon answered US presenter Ryan Seacrest's question about whether he would be at the birth by saying: "Are you out of your mind?
"There are certain things you shouldn't see... I will be very close but I don't want to deal with that."
Fellow-judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon have both said they think Mr Nasty will be a great dad, but he made headlines when he told BBC Breakfast that he was not interested in changing nappies and sleepless nights, saying "Can't I just get a nanny?".
