Even though he's serving life for the manslaughter of their six children, Mick Philpott continues to cast a malevolent spell over his wife Mairead.

The 32-year-old mother, who started the deadly fire with Mick, has written a love letter to him in which she calls him her 'Little Munchkin' and describes him as the 'best father ever'.

And she also declared her never-ending love for him.

According to The Sun, her letter opens with the words: "My darling babe, my one and only true love and best father ever... my English white rose, my guardian angel... my darling husband Mr Michael Philpott."

She also refuses to blame Mick, 56, for the fire that destroyed their council house in Derby, writing: "You tried everything you could to save our precious angels."

And Mairead told of her pain at seeing her home pulled down - even though her six children died there.

She wrote: "I did see it on the news about the house being pulled down and yes it really did hurt me seeing it on the telly... with all our memories of our home."

Mairead then bids 'nite nite' to the children killed in the 2012 fire in Allenton, Derby - Duwayne, 13, Jade, 10, John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five.

The Philpotts started the killer fire along with friend Paul Mosley, 46.

Mick was jailed for life for manslaughter at Nottingham Crown Court last April, while Mairead and Mosley got 17 years. In November 2013 she lost her appeal against the length of her sentence.
