Being able to embarrass your kids is surely one of the best things about being a parent – as long as you are not one of the stars of a prime time Saturday night TV show!

Strictly Come Dancing's Susanna Reid was a bit concerned about leaving her young lads with red faces as she performed a saucy salsa with dance partner Kevin Clifton on this week's programme.

Before BBC presenter Susanna took to the dance floor, viewers were treated to a video of her three children Sam, 10, Finn, nine, and Jack, seven, commenting on mum's rehearsal of the raunchy routine.

Forming a mock judging panel, the trio did not hold back on their opinions of the presenter's moves, their faces suggesting they were less than impressed with her not-so-fancy-footwork.

"You need to give it a bit more oomph," a critical Sam told her, while unimpressed Finn added: "I think maybe your steps could be a bit better."

On the night, Susanna told host Tess Daly she was confident the boys would be happy with her dance – and that they'd even gave her licence to thrill!

"I said to my kids 'are you going to worry about me going out there and doing that?' and they said 'you're only going to be on Strictly once, don't waste it being embarrassed', so I just went for it," she said.

But even if the boys were not embarrassed by the shapes their light-footed mum was throwing, one observer was left decidedly hot under the collar:

"You should be ashamed of yourself, a nice girl like you off the breakfast news, coming out all bounce, bum and bongos," judge Len Goodman told her, adding she had almost given him palpitations!

But the embarrassing parent award still goes to this dad who waves his son off to school in some seriously spectacular outfits...
