Hide and seek can be a tricky challenge for toddlers, as shown in these brilliant pictures of kids failing to conceal themselves from the amused eyes of mum and dad.
These photos, submitted by parents, show that mastering the subtle art of hide and seek doesn't come naturally for some.

Some of the hiding places are bizarrely ingenious - we love the little boy lying perfectly still under a rug in the middle of the floor, the method known as 'hiding in plain sight'.
And it's hard not to go 'aww' when you see a girl who has made the classic mistake of thinking 'if I can't see you, you can't see me' and has carefully covered her eyes with a doll as she 'hides' by standing against the wall.
