Tom Ford, fashion designer and all round gorgeous specimen of a human being, has tied the knot and married his longterm partner Richard Buckley.
The 52-year-old casually revealed the happy news during an "in conversation" session with playwright and fashion commentator Lady Kinvara Balfour at the Regent Street Apple Store on Tuesday night.
"We are now married, which is nice," he offhandedly announced, showing the audience his wedding ring. "I know that was just made legal in the UK which is great, but we were married in the States," he added.
The couple, who have a young son together - Alexander John Buckley Ford - met at a fashion show in the 1980s, a moment that Tom has described as instant attraction.
"I went to a fashion show and this silver-haired guy was staring at me with these piercing water-blue eyes," he told WWD. "It scared me because I absolutely saw and knew my entire future."
The Texan-born designer, who was only 25 at the time of meeting Richard, told Out magazine back in 2011 that it was "love at first sight".
He added that he decided he would marry Richard, then 38, "in the length of an elevator ride," explaining: "You can look at someone and feel like you've known them forever.
"The first night I ever had drinks with Richard, I felt I knew everything about him."
And it seems the feeling is completely mutual. "I couldn't imagine being without Tom now," said Richard. "I couldn't imagine what I'd be like if something happened to him. There's only one Tom for me."
