French designer Christian Louboutin has revealed that Victoria Beckham gave Kate Middleton a pair of his signature red soled heels as a gift.
In an interview with The Times at his debut beauty launch this week (he's designed a killer collection of nail polishes) Louboutin said:
"I have all respect for what Kate Middleton is doing, I know that Victoria Beckham offered her a pair of my boots and she looked great in them. She's been photographed wearing my boots. She looked fantastic."
Okay, so we're yet to see the duchess styling out a pair of sky-high Louboutins (to be fair they're not ideal footwear for all those official royal appearances), she's more about her wear-them-everywhere patent nude mid-heels. Read: comfort.
On the matter of wearability Louboutin also said: "I don't think of comfort when I'm designing a shoe. You can't.
"Of course, things need to be done properly - a shoe is made to be walked in - but creatively I'm not thinking about comfort at all. The first emotion I want to provoke is: 'How beautiful! How sexy!' I don't want people to think, 'How comfortable.'"
While La Beckham is the ultimate stiletto wearing lady - she's been adding inches to her look since way back when - Kate Middleton is a little less well practiced. But perhaps she wears the heels around her Kensington Palace apartments when she's off duty?
