Why Kate Middleton, The Duchess Of Cambridge, Has Avoided Official Engagements Since The Royal Tour

While Prince William attended friend Guy Pelly's wedding in Memphis with Prince Harry, and Ralph Lauren's event for Royal Marsden Hospital alone, there has been a question mark over why he hasn't been joined by his wife.

However, it has been revealed Duchess Kate has been more than a little busy - not just looking after Prince George but redesigning the young family's future home Anmer Hall on Sandringham Estate.

As well as taking on all interior design decisions, instead of hiring a professional, the 32-year-old is in the middle of planning a huge house-warming for their new neighbours, including the local farmers who have worked on the project.

Since Duchess Kate took on the redesign and sprucing of Anmer, the swimming pool has been refurbished, a new garden room has been added and all the scaffolding is set to finally come down at some point this week.

To furnish the interiors, the Duchess has been spotted at the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour scouting bit and pieces, and ordered beautiful jade and teal striped material from Mulberry Home.

She has also bought several Turkish kilims from a shop in the area. The owner revealed to the Daily Express: "She was looking for things for bedrooms, so she wanted softer pastel shades rather than strong colours. She is very hands-on and down-to-earth, helping to get things out. She really wants to be involved.
