The fashion at MTV's Video Music Awards is never disappointing and this year was no different.
From plunging necklines to thigh-high splits, the celebrity guests pulled out all the stops as they posed on the red carpet at The Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

When it came to leg-flashing, Jennifer Lopez led the trend in her glittering Charbel Zoe gown paired with white stilettos and a silver clutch bag. Rita Ora followed suit in a slinky scarlet Donna Karan design while Taylor Swift paraded her pins in a teeny tiny romper suit by Mary Katrantzou.
Kim Kardashian also turned heads by going braless in her low-cut Balmain mini dress, while Amber Rose decided to avoid wearing a dress entirely (see slide six in the gallery below.)
As for the safer but stunning outfits, Beyonce wowed in a black curve-hugging gown by Nicolas Jebran Couture followed by an equally flattering berry-coloured dress later on in the night.
Gwen Stefani also ticked the best dressed box in her fuchsia L.A.M.B. ensemble while Jessie J looked effortlessly elegant in her mint green dress by Halston heritage.
And then there was this showstopper...
Katy Perry and rapper Riff Raff arrived wearing matching denim Versace designs. Yes, these outfits looked hideous, but we've got to hand it to them - this is the best homage to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's VMAs style in 2001 we've ever seen.
