Good news, Arsenal fans. Not only has your team qualified for the Champions League group stage but Arsène Wenger has rubbished rumours of interest in Nikola Žigić...

Flush with an extra £30m thanks to Alexis Sánchez's winner against Beşiktaş, Wenger added Arsenal would not bid for Danny Welbeck or Radamel Falcao.

Louis van Gaal wants to sell Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa and Tom Cleverley, just three more players ready to be tossed onto the scrapheap already occupied by Anderson, Javier Hernández and Wilfried Zaha.

Cleverley, however, is willing to see out a year at Old Trafford before leaving on a free when his contract expires next summer. And Zaha's return to Crystal Palace could be hastened by Neil Warnock's arrival as manager.

Glen Johnson, like Cleverley, could leave at the end of the season on a free, with Brendan Rodgers quietly marginalising the right-back at Liverpool.

Virjil van Dijk is one of the likeliest to leave Celtic after their pitiful failure in the Champions League qualifiers, with Sunderland interested in a £6m move for the Dutch defender.
