His mum, known only as Mrs Tian, gave birth to her bumper boy at the Chongji Maternity Hospital in Yecheng city, Shanxi.

The child, who has not been named, arrived on August 23, weighing twice the amount of an average newborn.

The baby's weight was a complete shock to staff at the hospital who helped deliver him.

It hasn't been revealed, but reading between the lines we're presuming the not-so-little boy arrived via C-section.

Chongji Maternity's director said: "It's the first time I've delivered such a huge baby in my 30-year career."

Mrs Tian is believed to be 34. This is her second child.

Although there is no denying this new arrival is larger than average, he isn't a record breaker.

According to Guinness World Records, a 23lb baby was born to Anna Bates in her Ohio home on January 19, 1879.
