Well, George Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, is taking that idea literally and was actually spotted visiting the offices of Kate Middleton's wedding dress design house, Alexander McQueen, this week.

In fact, Amal spent a hefty hour and a half at the offices in Clerkenwell, London, with her mother, the journalist Baria Alamuddin.

Getting last-minute fittings sorted, perhaps?

Indeed, according to the Daily Mail, as Amal exited the building she was seen kissing goodbye to a seamstress wearing a pin cushion on her arm.

Kate's dress was famously made by McQueen's creative director, Sarah Burton, And here's a reminder of what it looked like just in case you forgot (yeah, right).

It is believed George and Amal - who have been engaged since April - will marry this month.

They obtained a marriage licence from a civic office in Chelsea in August. The document was on display at the town hall on the King's Road before being removed and shredded after 16 days.

It also stated that Amal and George would marry in Italy, where Clooney owns the gorgeous Villa Oleandra on Lake Como, which would make the perfect wedding venue.

We can't wait to see pics of the dress. But might shed a little tear over the loss of George from our potential husband-to-be list.
