But, OK, yep, you guessed it: it's only a temporary one.
Katie was at an event sponsored by Old Navy as part of the Spring 2015 runway shows this week, and got into the party spirit by getting a gold etching on her neck as well as one on her forearm.
A make up artist applied the body art and Katie looked very excited about the whole process.
The Giver star looked relaxed but cute in a grey stripy shirt paired with black skinny jeans and black stilettos.
She wore her hair loose around her shoulders and was glowing with a subtle LA tan.
According to the Daily Mail, after years of living in Manhattan, Katie recently bought a $3.795 million home six-bedroom home in Calabasas, LA - also the stomping ground of Kim Kardashian.
Meanwhile, Katie's style has been coming into its own recently, and the star completely wowed on the cover of US Glamour's August issue.
The actress smouldered while working double denim, big hair and no bra.
Couldn't get much further away from her old Dawson's Creek Joey Potter character. And we love the sassy new Ms Holmes.
