Hardworking mums zip thorough a whopping 42 tasks on an average day - and half of these daily tasks are done before 9am!
It's no wonder that mums named September the most dreaded month of the year. Getting into the 'back to school' swing can take some adjusting after six weeks of (relative) relaxation.
Household chores on the average mum's agenda include cooking, washing, tidying up after the kids, making packed lunches, and helping with homework. Sound familiar?
Mealtimes are a particular source of stress, with the average mum responsible for two family meals per day and spending 14 hours a week planning and preparing lunches and dinners which cater to fussy eaters and conflicting family schedules.
All of these responsibilities take their toll on stress levels. An overwhelming 84 percent of mothers admitted to researchers that they struggle to keep up with their daily to-do list, with many reporting that they find themselves lagging behind after the kids have gone to bed.
The survey was conducted on behalf of food manufacturer Birds Eye.
