Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCullough's Spring/Summer 2015 collection at 23 Wall Street during New York Fashion Week was a celebration of American codes and a reworking of classic style staples: the polo, the button-down shirt, the anorak, the sweater dress, the kilt skirt.

The designers worked the American prep motif to great effect, using high-tech fabrics to transform tried-and-tested wardrobe staples into sophisticated designs.

Argyle was rendered on white leather and crocheted with crystals, while the classic button-down and shirt-dress got an update with colourful leather panels and silk evening dresses were pulled apart to create elaborated fringed designs.

Meanwhile kilt skirts and polo dresses were jazzed up with colourful python for unexpected edginess.
