Katie Holmes Has A New Job

Katie Holmes is set to try her hand at directing.

The actress will produce and star in a film based on All We Had by Annie Weatherwax, a novel which portrays the difficulties of being a single parent.

Following her split with Tom Cruise back in 2012, 35-year-old Holmes has raised their 8-year-old daughter Suri alone so this new role is pretty close to her heart.

Katie even managed to get the rights to the novel in July, a month before the book was released to the public.

Co-producer Jane Rosenthal spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about Katie's new project and credited her "clear vision for the book's irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship."
