Iceland's 'Loch Ness Monster' Caught On Camera

Iceland Has Its Own Loch Ness Monster

Iceland has its very own lake monster, it's official. This video, taken in 2012 has been scrupulously analysed by a 'Truth Commission' who have finally decided that it's definitely a lake monster.

You could almost forgive the shaky footage, or indeed the fact that many people believe it's just a fishing net caught in a stream, irregardless Iceland has finally decided it wants its own 'Nessie'.

Iceland is hoping that the official recognition will bring more tourists to the country in the form of 'Monster Hunters' and amateur photographers hoping to get their own shot of the creature.

In case you're wondering Iceland hasn't just invented a lake daemon, the discovery is being attributed to Lagarfljótsormurinn, a -- what was or still is -- mythical monster that had been chained to the bottom of the lake but has now -- it would appear -- broken free.
