Kate Middleton Plans First Christmas In Renovated Norfolk Home

Kate Middleton will be playing hostess for her family at Anmer Hall this Christmas.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been renovating their country mansion in Norfolk for the last two years and it's finally ready to receive guests.

Wondering what Kate has planned on the decorations front? We've got a feeling she's a white Christmas lights kind of girl, and there's sure to be a colour code.

Carole and Michael Middleton will be staying at Kate's new home along with siblings Pippa and James this Christmas - but recent reports suggest they won't be spending Christmas Day together.

William and Kate will attend the traditional morning church service followed by lunch with the Queen and the royal family at Sandringham House - but the Middletons haven't been invited.

It's nothing personal, it's simply down to space. And perhaps they're down for babysitting duties anyway? Prince George will have some serious present opening to do, after all.

"The Queen is fond of Kate and doesn't mean to exclude her family – indeed she has broken many of the old rules for them in the past," a royal insider told theDaily Mail.

"But if all of her children and grandchildren's wives had their families to lunch, there wouldn't be enough room, even at Sandringham House's dining room".

The Middletons won't be completely left out of the royal celebrations, though. According to reports, Kate's family will attend a tea at the estate over the Christmas holidays after all the big festivities. Cake and a tipple of mulled wine sounds about right.
