Benedict Cumberbatch’s engagement announcement may have been applauded by plenty of well-wishers, but there were always going to be a few ‘Sherlock’ fans who were left feeling somewhat upset.
Until now, Benedict hadn’t even confirmed his relationship with theatre director Sophie Hunter, and many of his most devoted fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the couple's pending nuptials.
While a number of Twitter users are excited for the actor to tie the knot, a number are less-than-happy.
First of all, there are the fans we’re calling, “mainly happy but slightly bitter”:

Luckily, as some have pointed out, Benedict’s engagement doesn’t mean he’s deserting us completely:
