Man City defender Pablo Zabaleta shared his baby news after scoring his first goal of the season, with an adorable celebration directed at his pregnant wife.

Fan favourite Pablo scored the third goal in City's 4-1 victory over Sunderland and celebrated by sticking a football under his shirt and sucking his thumb - an unmistakable sign that he is eagerly anticipating the birth of his first child.

As he made the gesture, the Argentinian right-back was looking towards his wife, who was watching the match from the stands at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

"It was a bit special because I say to my wife hopefully I can score at least one goal in this nine months - she is five months pregnant already so I thought it's going to be hard because four months to go, I need to score as soon as possible," he explained after the match.

"We've been together for a long time I never thought a little Mancunian was on the way."

No wonder, seeing as Pablo's wife, model and TV presenter Christel Castaño, has admitted when she first arrived in the city in 2008 she hated living in Manchester and missed her native Spain.

"Of the 365 days a year, about 185 of them are raining, cold or dark. Or all three at the same time," she told the Mirror in 2011, adding that she was mystified by the popularity of fish and chips.

But, doubtless aware of the passion Manchester's residents have for their city, she was quick to add that she and Pablo now thought of the place as home.

"Although the adjustment was hard at first, we have come to love Manchester and everything that makes it special."

The pair were married in June last year after dating for seven years. This will be their first child.
