How Princess Eugenie Outshone Kate Middleton On Christmas Day

Kate Middleton took her baby bump for its first Christmas church service in Norfolk on Thursday. And, as usual, she was immaculate as ever. But, there was another royal that managed to steal her Xmas style thunder: Princess Eugenie.

The duchess arrived at St Mary Magdalene Church on the Queen's Sandringham estate dressed in a brown tweed coat by Moloh and pillbox hat by Lock and Company.

According to Celebuzz, she finished the look with Emmy heels, Cornelia James gloves, and Catherine Zoraida earrings.

But, while there was nothing wrong with the look, the muted colour and fabric was a little old-fashioned. Particularly in comparison to Princess Eugenie's fresh, modern look, which saw her don a fitted white dress coat paired with a pretty fuchsia hat. Well played, Eugenie.

The royals spent time meeting and greeting the public before the service. According to the Daily Mail, one onlooker who'd flocked to see the royals said she spoke to Prince William, who was "very, very, sweet".

She gushed, "He said Prince George was really, really well and said that they've left him at the nursery because it's a little bit cold, but they were looking forward to going back to see what destruction he'd caused. He wished us a happy Christmas and asked if we were warm enough and he said he was very grateful for all the flowers.

"He said his grandmother would be very happy with them. He was very, very sweet and asked if we'd had a nice day."

Meanwhile, Kate told another onlooker: "I'm sorry we didn't bring George but you would have heard him in the church."

Indeed, after attending the church service, Kate and William headed back to their mansion, Anmer Hall, to enjoy Christmas dinner with the Middletons, instead of joining the other royals at Sandringham.

But it was certainly a right royal affair at the church.
