Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancée Sophie Hunter have confirmed they are expecting their first baby together.

The Sherlock and Imitation Game actor confirmed the news through his spokesperson following rumours that his fiancée Sophie Hunter, a theatre director, was pregnant.

Benedict's spokesperson announced the news with a short but sweet statement which read: "I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child.

"They are both over the moon."

Benedict, 38, and Sophie, 36, announced their engagement in November, and are expected to marry in the spring. This will be their first baby together.
