A huge meteorite lit up the night sky over Bucharest on 7 January after entering the Earth's atmosphere.
The giant fireball appeared in the early hours of the morning flooding the city in light as it disintegrated in a ball of fire.

Various cameras were able to capture the impressive sight including those at the local airport. Despite the huge flash of light it's not believed that anything significant then hit the surface.
