Zooey Deschanel is pregnant!
The New Girl actress is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, film producer Jacob Pechenik, 42.
Zooey, 34, confirmed the news to People magazine today (Tuesday, January 13).
"Jacob and I are over the moon," she said. "We are so excited to meet our little one,"
2015 is set to be a very exciting year for the Deschanel family as Zooey's older sister Emily, 38, is also pregnant.
Emily, who stars in comedy-drama series Bones, announced in December that she is expecting her second child with her husband David Hornsby.
Zooey and Jacob have been dating since mid 2014. They first appeared publicly together at the 66th Emmy Awards last August and recently worked together on her new film Rock the Kasbah.
Zooey was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie musician Ben Gibbard for three years until their divorce in 2012.
Although Zooey has been forthcoming with her pregnancy announcement, in the past she has spoken about the pressure on women to declare whether or not they want children.
"When I was married, that was the first thing people wanted to know. Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don't think so. Nobody asks guys that," she told InStyle magazine last summer.
"And you go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, 'Pregnant and Alone!' Stuck in the 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. This brings out the fiery feminist in me."
