Pink Goes Nude In 90ft PETA Billboard In New York's Times Square

Pink is set to shock thousands of stylists flocking to New York for Fashion Week - with a statement-making 90ft billboard of her posing nude for PETA in Times Square.

The singer is seen wearing nothing but a smile in PETA US' newest Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign.

The 90-foot-wide billboard, which will be erected in New York's busy, iconic advertising district on Wednesday night, hits just before New York Fashion Week kicks off on 12 February. The tagline reads, "Be comfortable in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs".

The photo was snapped by photographer Ruven Afanador, and shows Pink , who is married to Carey Hart and has a three-year-old daughter Willow, giggling and looking beautiful as she makes her point for a good cause while displaying her extensive body art.

The 'So What' singer says, "I would like to say I've always been fur-free. Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and wore fur on a couple of occasions.

"But I wised up and now boycott fur completely. I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends."

And in typical fierce Pink fashion, she adds, "I hope fur-wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back."

Along with Ricky Gervais, Pink has previously lent her voice to an edgy CGI video for PETA UK targeting animal skins, but this is the first time the singer has stripped off her clothes to make her point.

A similar series of Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaigns by PETA UK has featured Eva Mendes, Alexandra Burke and Lucy Watson.

PETA has worked tirelessly over the years to expose cruelty to animals who are caged, beaten, electrocuted and skinned for leather, wool, exotic skins, fur and angora.
