‘Hollyoaks’ fans got a shock during Tuesday night’s E4 episode, when Mercedes McQueen reappeared in the soap.
Mercedes, played by Jennifer Metcalfe, had been presumed dead after being stabbed by Grace Black, however, she’s actually been hiding in a France villa.
She's back!
At the moment, Grace is trying to set Freddie Roscoe up for the ‘murder’, and in the first look episode, fans saw Joe Roscoe travel to France, where he discovered Mercedes alive and well.
Digital Spy reports that this isn’t a one-off reappearance, stating that Jennifer is set to return to filming as a regular member of the cast in March.
Actress Jennifer is back for good
“Mercedes is leaving the village, she needs to give her high heels a rest - my feet are knackered,” the actress wrote on Twitter. “Read all your lovely messages lookin forward to welcoming the new mcqueens (their ace ) lots of love and keep watching.” [sic]
In Jennifer’s absence the McQueen clan has grown considerably, and the latest new arrival is Reenie, played by Zoe Lucker.
Zoe’s first scenes saw one of her on-screen daughters visiting her in prison, though it’s not yet clear what crime she has committed.
