Cate Blanchett is reported to have adopted a baby daughter.

According to The Australian Women's Weekly, the 45-year-old Australian actress and her husband, playwright and artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company Andrew Upton, 49, have added to their family of three boys and adopted a little girl named Vivienne. The couple are already parents to Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, seven and have been married since 1997.

The magazine reports Cate has told close friends at her sons' primary school in Sydney, Australia, about the addition to their family, with one friend saying: "She's really excited and clearly besotted." The publication also wrote that the actress's representatives confirmed the adoption news.

Earlier this week, while promoting her new role in Cinderella, Cate joked she was an embarrassing mum to her sons.
