Karen Gillan Embraces 60s Style At Empire Film Awards

It's all about the 1970s when it comes to style this spring, but Karen Gillan gave a nod to an earlier era at the Empire Film Awards on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Scottish star posed outside London's Grosvenor House in a 60s-inspired metallic mini dress from Louis Vuitton's Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. Of course, leather knee-high boots, nude lipstick and winged eyeliner were the only ways to complete her vintage red carpet look.

Gillan, who is famous for playing Amy Pond in Doctor Who, had something to celebrate at this year's ceremony, too. She picked up the Best Female Newcomer Award thanks to her role in Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Other winners on the night included Rosamund Pike, who was named Best Actress for her role in Gone Girl, and Christopher Nolan, who won Best Director for Interstellar. The Sci-Fi flick also received the prize for Best Film, and star of the movie Jessica Chastain was in town to pick up the award.

The American actress looked beautiful in a monochrome print gown by Oscar de la Renta. Does she ever put a foot wrong when it comes to red carpet style?
