Emmerdale actress Nicola Wheeler has given birth to her first child.
The star, 40, who plays Nicola King on the soap, gave birth to a baby boy last month but the news has only just been announced.
Nicola chose to keep her pregnancy under wraps, only confirming she was expecting eight months into her pregnancy.
A message posted on the official Emmerdale Twitter page at the weekend said: "BIG congratulations to @nicola_wheeler and her baby boy, who arrived on Friday 13! #Emmerdale"
Alongside the tweet was a picture of the blonde actress with the caption: "New mum!"
Nicola replied:
Nicola and her partner Matt have yet to announce the name of their newborn.
She had to keep her bump hidden in the popular ITV soap as she entered a storyline about a miscarriage.
Nicola has been temporarily written out of the soap to accommodate her maternity leave and her character has headed to Dubai for a new job.
Before she gave birth, Nicola thanked fans for their well wishes after announcing the news on Twitter, writing: "Thanks for all your congratulations still got a couple of weeks until (baby) arrives. Unless he/she gets impatient."
She continued: "Again thanks for all the baby congrats. He/she is a wriggler & currently auditioning for 'Aliens 5'. Great way to freak you other half out!"
