‘Gogglebox’ cast members Steph and Dom Parker have broken the sad news they’re “taking a break” from the hit Channel 4 show.
After viewers were saddened to note that the couple’s appearances in ‘Gogglebox’ had been greatly downsized in recent series, they’ve now spoken out, to explain why they’re taking some time away.
Speaking to The Sun, Steph revealed: “We think it’s important that everyone gets their chance to be on ‘Gogglebox’ and give their opinion, and having been on it from the beginning we felt like we’d pretty much said all we needed to say, and we knew what we were going say.
Asked how long the “break” would last - and, indeed, if they’d ever be back on ‘Gogglebox’ - she added: “You can have too much of a good thing, so you can’t overdo it, we just felt it was time. We’ve got other projects and not a lot of time.”
Since their first appearance on ‘Gogglebox’ in 2013, the married couple have been able to release their own book, ‘Steph And Dom’s Guide To Life’, while he also took part in the second series of ‘The Jump’.
But Steph and Dom may not be the only long-serving ‘Gogglebox’ cast members taking a break from the sofa, though, with reports suggesting that Scarlett Moffatt’s days on the show were numbered.
Last month, The Sun claimed she was will be swapping her living room for the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ jungle, after becoming a favourite among viewers.
Although it’s not yet known whether she’ll be among the stars heading Down Under when the new series starts, there was a new addition to her family at the beginning of the new series of ‘Gogglebox’, when her boyfriend put in his first appearance on the show.
