Posted: 16/11/2012 10:49

Once the shy sibling to Sydney and Melbourne, Brisbane is now stepping out of their shadows and into its own East Coast sunshine - well it is the sunshine capital after all. Brisbane - has galleries galore, is sporting mad and has a strong coffee culture or opt for a short ride of out of the city centre and you are greeted with the Scenic Rim and the Great Barrier Reef. It's an assorted mixture of city life, Aussie bush and a culturally rich urban suburban. And here at Black Tomato we have narrowed it down to the top five things you should not miss.

Coffee is our remedy for getting us going in the morning, but in Brisbane it’s a way of life. As you wander the city and suburbs you’ll notice coffee houses everywhere, waiting for you to take a pit stop and recharge. Whether it’s a lunch meeting by the Brisbane River or catching up with friends in the district of Milton the smell of freshly ground beans overloads the senses and will lure you in. And what’s wrong with sitting outside a boutique café with a perfectly ground cup of coffee and the prickle of the Aussie sunshine on your skin? Nothing that’s what, life couldn’t get much better.
