Hello everybody, I have just uploaded a video to my YouTube channel introducing the launch of a new series. The series, entitled 'Cancer and...', aims to help people understand the effects of cancer on everyday life. In its introductory instalment, I encouraged my viewers to suggest subjects that they would like to see my cover.

The subject suggestions I have received cover a range of topics and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. Suggestions vary from the physical pain cancer causes, to the practical impact cancer has, for example, had on my schooling. I am really pleased that my viewers want to learn not only about the physical and emotional aspects of living with the disease, but also the logistical constraints it imposes. I think that the logistical elements of living with cancer are largely underemphasised. I was personally effected by such constraints when planning to go to America with my boyfriend. We had planned this trip for months and were both incredibly excited about it. Yet, we were forced to abandon the entire idea when I was told that my cancer had pushed the insurance costs unimaginably high.

My ultimate goal is to feel that I am in someway educating and helping people understand life with cancer. This goal extends to everyone: people living with cancer; their loved ones; and those wishing to find out more about the impacts of the disease. Cancer can be a really overwhelming, confusing and scary issue. I think their is a real perception that cancer is getting ill and losing your hair, when, in reality, it is so much more than that. Cancer affects people's lives, not just their health, and I want to help as many as possible realise that they can still live theirs to the fullest.
