Meat Loaf was in London to support the launch of the musical ‘Jim Steinman’s Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical’, which he said was a dream come true after a 50-year collaboration with Jim Steinman, the producer who channelled Meat Loaf’s distinct talents to unique effect on the ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ albums and hits including ‘Dead Ringer For Love’, ‘Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad’ and ‘Paradise By The Dashboard Light’.
During the same chat, Meat Loaf revealed that, despite what the press would have us think and despite lawsuits between the two, he had only fallen out with Jim once in 50 years - although on that occasion, he did turn over the piano, much to the producer’s surprise.
