Gogglebox's Sandi Quits The Show, But Don't Worry - Sandra Is Going Nowhere

One of our favourite duos is about to be split up for good.

Sandi Bogle has announced that she is leaving ‘Gogglebox’, in order to pursue a career in music.

Best known for sharing a sofa with her pal Sandra Martin, Sandi has appeared on the Channel 4 show for the past three years, making her debut appearance in the first series way back in 2013.

However, after viewers were stunned on Friday (16 December) to see Sandra appear in the show’s 100th episode without Sandi, a spokesperson has now confirmed that only one half of the duo will be back next year.

The spokesperson said: “Sandi has decided to leave the show to pursue her singing career and other opportunities and we wish her all the very best.”

Sandi’s music career began earlier this year, with her cover of Coffee’s ‘Casanova’ being released over the summer, followed by a more recent festive offering.

Those “other opportunities” sound interesting too, particularly given that ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ kicks off in January, and her former co-star Scarlett Moffatt just had a very successful time in the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ jungle.

Watch this space, we reckon.

It’s not all bad news for ‘Gogglebox’ fans, though, as the new series will see Sandra returning, with daughter Chanchez at her side.

Chanchez made her debut on the show on Friday, helping her mum out in Sandi’s absence.

Sandi isn’t the only ‘Gogglebox’ staple to leave the show behind in the past couple of months, though.

Steph and Dom Parker, who were instrumental in the early days of its success, revealed recently that they were taking an indefinite break, in order to allow others the chance to shine on the show.

It’s still not known whether Scarlett will be back on the sofa in 2017, though it was recently rumoured she was at the centre of a bidding war, as she prepares to began a career as a TV presenter.
