While Zayn has already performed on a handful of US TV shows, he’s yet to take to the stage here in the UK, after pulling out of a previously scheduled appearance on the ‘Graham Norton Show’.
As expected, Zayn’s solo career got off to a strong start with the release of his debut single ‘Pillowtalk’ back in January.
However, despite the fact his album went straight in at number one, he suffered an embarrassing second week chart defeat, at the hands of Aled Jones.
The one-off Capital Summertime Ball performance will see Zayn perform for 80,000 people, and details on how to purchase tickets can be found here.
There’s no word yet on when - or if! - a solo tour will follow, but the ‘Like I Would’ singer has previously hinted that he will be taking his album on the road.
Speaking back in January, he revealed that he’d love to give a performance at Bradford City’s football ground.
During a chat with Zane Lowe, which took place in the stands, he said: “It’s quite iconic, I think, for Bradford as well. It’s probably the biggest grounds we’ve got, like, it’d be pretty cool to do a gig here. If we filled this it’d be pretty sick.”
