David Hodge has grabbed our attention and deservedly so. We know that social care needs to be better connected to health care. We know that government should take a lead in both encouraging integration and ensuring adequate funds are available. Despite overcast skies and intermittent rain, the Big Bash Derby between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars on New Year's Day attracted more than 71,000 spectators - down on last year's 80,000 crowd, given the conditions, but still an attendance figure that marketing directors in England can only dream about.
I would often hear stories from people that have attended events like this in the past - but experiencing it first-hand made it clearer to me more than ever that the 'black students' movement' is broken. It does not stand for equality and it certainly does not stand for the greater good. It is a drastically misinformed and hypocritical movement, stuck in the past and fuelled with unnecessary anger.
