Amazon is getting ready to finally launch their own digital video game download store in the UK. The online retailer already has a similar service in the USA, but they decided to wait before launching it into their other main countries.

The Amazon UK digital video game download store will be launching in October and Amazon hopes it will compete with the major players in this market, such as Steam.

"Amazon can use its retail muscle to draw attention to PC digital downloads and even upset the established order, where Valve sits at the head of the table." a rival retailer told MCV.

It was about time Amazon launched this product in the UK, as it has been running in the USA since 2009. So far in the USA store they have seen strong figures, but havent been able to get a real grip on this market.
