Baby Wigs - Now I Really Have Seen It All!

Baby Wigs - Now I Really Have Seen It All!

Ok, I've barely been at this pregnancy lark for 11 weeks and already I feel like I've seen it all. Why? Because I've found baby wigs. Yes people, you can buy baby wigs. Jeez, what next, fake baby breasts?

Called Baby Bangs, this mindblowing invention from a US mum (only in America) is designed to help little girls who are challenged in the hair department look more girly.

Come on people, these are babies! Of course they don't have a full head of bouncy, straight out of the salon locks. They can't drive or hold down a job either – they're only months old. Give them a break!

Look carefully at this picture; those 'bangs' aren't real. The Baby Bangs company explains:

Keep reading: It's so bizarre you'll think you're dreaming ..."Our patent pending HAIR+band accessory combination allows baby girl's [sic] (with little or no hair at all) the opportunity to have a beautifully realistic HAIR style in a SNAP!! It's quick, easy and baby barely knows it's there. Each Baby Bangs! HAIR+band has been made using only the finest ribbons and fabrics, PLUS our Baby Bangs! come to you pre-customized & size appropriate, cut, styled and ready for immediate wear. The wispy hair strands have been arranged in the cutest most adorable elfish coiffure!"

I beg to differ about the cuteness of this elfish coiffure. This poor child looks a little scary (and so much cuter in her before picture) and it reeks of child beauty pageants. What's more can you imagine explaining the baby pictures to your teenage daughter: "Yeah, sorry, you were a baldy. Yuck! We thought you looked much sweeter with a monofiber kanekelon syrup stuck to your forehead." Hello adolescent counselling.

I'm not suprised by the Beauty Bangs 'philosophy':

"At Baby Bangs! we believe in the beauty of childhood. Our unique designs are sprinkled with MAGIC! ~inspiring a world of whimsical wonder and mystical magical memorable moments for you and your baby girl to cherish Forever! For she is, and always will be, Your LiTTLe PRINCESS!"

Oh puhlease. Tell me it's a joke.

Would you put your baby in a wig? Perhaps you dig this look. Confess all here...
