Mum Throws Baby Into Car To Stop Repossession

A mother from Dallas, USA, tried to stop her car from being repossessed by throwing her baby in through the window of the moving vehicle, police have said.

Krystal Gardner, 28, from southeast Dallas, is now in custody after allegedly putting her baby's life at risk.

The incident happened when a man arrived at her home on Monday to try to repossess her Ford Expedition.

As the man, Luke Ross, was pulling out of the driveway in the car, police say Gardner threw her one-year-old child threw an open window into the back seat of the sport utility vehicle.

Apparently state law says that vehicles can't be repossessed if someone is inside.

It's amazing what lengths some parents will go to in order to be considered for Mother of the Year, isn't it?

Police reports say that when the repo man saw the baby in the back seat, he stopped the car and started to get out.

Then it gets better. According to the police, a 15-year-old boy came out of the house with a 12-gauge shotgun.

He fired one round into the air and another at Ross, hitting him in the leg.

However, Ross did still repossess the car despite suffering minor injuries. That's dedication for you.

Police arrested Gardner and the 15-year-old, and charged them both with aggravated assault.

Gardner has also been charged with endangering a child and several outstanding traffic warrants and is being held on about $4,000 bail, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The Morning News says the case has been referred to Child Protective Services, which will decide what should happen to the baby.
