Family Friendly Restaurants: Giraffe

Family Friendly Restaurants: Giraffe

Over the weekend we looked at Spur Steak and Grill, a restaurant that's focused on providing a comfortable environment for families to eat out without worrying about other diners. Whilst family-friendly restaurants are by no means common-place, the current economic environment has led to a few more restaurants looking at how they can encourage families to visit their restaurants.

One restaurant that's really taken the needs of families into consideration is Giraffe, a chain of restaurants with a global theme. The trendy chain often runs discounts and deals, including their current deal of £10 off a £50 meal if you signup for their newsletter.

In terms of food, the restaurants offer a balanced and healthy menu for the children. On the occasions I've visited with kids, they've enjoyed meals like freshly prepared salmon fingers, a mini brunch and a pasta with tomato sauce. The fruit smoothies tend to go down well too, particularly as they come with a tiny little plastic giraffes perched on the edge of the glass. Everything on the kids menu is under a fiver too.

The last time we visited the Reading location with a two-year-old, we were greeted warmly, taken to a table with a high chair and our order was taken quickly. The latter really is important if you have tired and hungry children impatient for their dinner!

Overall, I'd highly recommend Giraffe to families looking for a balanced meal for all the family.
