Swingball Gets A Revamp For The Summer

Now that the sunshine is here for a little while (fingers crossed!), it's time to look at some fun games to play in the garden with the kids. Active ball games are always a popular choice with girls and boys, whether its football, badminton, tennis or a bit of a posh game of croquet.

One popular kids bat and ball game, Swingball, has undergone a revamp for the summer.

The game traditionally involved a ball on a line attached to a pole, which swung round, allowing children to improve their eye to hand coordination.

It's surprising how long a child can entertain themselves with batting a ball around with this game, but it seems to be an addictive activity, particularly if they've got a bit of a competitive streak.

The new version of the game abandons the poll, and now involves a ball with a 'tail' which makes co-ordination a little easier for young ones. The set comes with a small net that would suit most gardens.

If you want to pick one up, they're currently available from Debenhams in a handy backpack for £30.

Have your kids spent the last weekend enjoying the sunshine in the garden?
