Rachel Stevens recently announced that she's pregnant with her first child. The petite popstar stands at just over 5ft tall, which may lead to a few problems when it comes to maternity clothing. Whilst standard clothing now comes in a range of leg or skirt lengths, maternity clothing is still dragging behind in the times a little.
So, Rachel either has the option of sticking to the petite sections in the high street and heading towards the more floaty options, or hunt down stockists who source maternity wear specifically for the shorter mum-to-be.
FunMum often stocks an excellent range of maternity wear for both the tall and the short market. They've recently introduced this useful casuals package, which features two vest tops, a pair of maternity jeans and a pair of black trousers. The set is available in an assortment of leg lengths, so it should fit regardless of your site.
The set is £97, a saving of £30 if you bought the four pieces separately.
If you're on the high street, it's worth popping into Next, who offer most of their trousers in a variety of lengths. Their cool Linen Trousers (£20) come in short, regular, long, extra long and tall.Mothercare has a small selection of trousers and jeans for the petite, with prices starting at £16.These M2b Full Basque Slim Bootcup jeans would fit in nicely with Rachel Steven's current wardrobe.
So, there's plenty of choice when it comes to jeans and trousers, but for the moment, petite ladies may have to just deal with dresses and skirts that sit a little lower on the leg then their leggy sisters.
