Christiano Ronaldo 'Paid An American Woman To Have His Baby Son'

Over this past weekend Ronaldo broke the news on his Facebook and Twitter pages that he had become a father. Since then, rumours have circulated regarding the mysterious mother of his child, who has given him sole custody of the boy.

A Portuguese newspaper has alleged that Ronaldo paid a surrogate mother to have his son. Many believe the mother to be an American woman who refuses to be identified.

Other rumours suggest the baby was a result of a fling last summer, and the footballer had paid her to stay anonymous.

However the paper, Diario de Noticias, believes the sportsman conceived the child with a surrogate mother at the end of last summer in San Diego.

Since the announcements on his social networking sites, a spokesman for Ronaldo's management company Gestifute has confirmed he had become a father but refused to comment on the surrogacy claims.

The star flew home straight after the team crashed out of the World Cup.

His status on Facebook read: 'It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become a father to a baby boy.

'As agreed with the baby's mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship.'

Reports are also mixed on the reaction of his current girlfriend, model Irina Shayk, 24. A fake Facebook page claims she knew nothing about the baby and was in tears, although this was later denied by her spokesperson.
