THE SCOOP: Katrantzou is carving out a fashion niche, thanks to her gorgeous graphic dresses. This season, she was inspired by blown glass which set the agenda for the hair and makeup. "Mary's shapes are quite graphic, asymmetrical, busy and quite beautiful," said Cullem backstage, "so we wanted to keep the hair simple. We left it simple in front with an interesting detail at the back. The graphic blown glass jewellery designs play a major part in it."

Garland echoed his views. "The makeup came from this Murano blown glass idea. We wanted lots of curves, and for it to be a soft but also a strong eye."

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: Garland and her team started with the colour purple for the eye and mixed it with different highlights including orange, chrome and yellow. "The effect was soft and washy on top with a punch underneath," explained Garland. This was achieved with the graphic black line that was roughly painted on using a pencil and blending brush. The final touch was a cool pink pigment pressed onto the lips.

GET THE LOOK - HAIR: Cullem didn't use any products in order to keep hair looking natural. The look was created using several ponytails and flipping them inside each other to create a roll.
