Peter Crouch has confirmed the tabloid rumours that he and girlfriend Abbey Clancy are expecting a baby, but has asked for privacy, saying that Abbey is 'less than three months pregnant.'
The Spurs player looked grim faced as he left the £3million Surrey home he shares with model Abbey, 24, after newspapers broke the story yesterday.
In a statement, Crouch, 29, said: 'This is a private matter between me and Abbey and she is in fact less than three months pregnant.
'Abbey told me on 25 July that she was pregnant but we agreed to keep it private until she was ready to make an announcement.
'There were even some members of our families who were still unaware that Abbey is pregnant until today's revelations in the Sun.
'I will not be saying anything more at this time.'
The couple have been together since 2006 and became engaged in 2009. They are thought to be rebuilding their relationship after Crouch was accused of sleeping with prostitutes whilst on a stag weekend in Madrid in July. Teenage hooker Monica Mint told a Sunday newspaper the footballer had paid her £800 for sex.
