Carey Mulligan is officially the MyDaily beauty queen of the moment. No sooner have we commended her for the best celebrity hairstyle of the week, she goes and pulls another beauty blinder. This time it was in the shape of the sultriest smoky eyes – debuted by the star at the screening of her new film Never Let Me Go in New York.
The smoky eye has been an autumn/winter beauty perennial since the dawn of kohl but while most of us can admire its smouldering effects, not everyone can pull it off with such aplomb.
The key to Carey's smokin' success:
- 1. Team smoky eyes with a fresh complexion, flushed cheeks and a nude glossy lip.
- 2. Use a metallic gunmetal shade to soften the look and blend, blend, blend.
- 3. Use a kohl pencil to line the inner rim of the eye.
- 4. Add a girlie touch by curling the lashes and finishing with lashings of mascara.
