Shop The Trend: Wall Street

It may seem a little incongruous, given the state of the economy, to be honing in on all things Wall Street. But rest easy – this reverse shift towards masculine tailoring, power dressing and ostentatious statement pieces is more about the return of Gordon Gecko to cinemas next month in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps than paying homage to the bankers slugging it out in Manhattan's modern-day financial district.

This season, labels such as Balmain, Rodarte and Vivienne Westwood have all reworked the look made famous by the original Wall Street's Daryl Hannah and Working Girls' Melanie Griffiths and Sigourney Weaver – these women were the power-dressing pin-up girls of the time. We're talking trouser suits, waistcoats and an exaggerated shoulder. It's a look that you can turn up a notch with studs and leather, or tone down with ladylike blouses and girlie accessories. Either way, it's sure to get you noticed.,feedConfig,localizationConfig,entry&id=935201&pid=935200&uts=1285212918
