Paediatrician Mum Charged With Neglect After Toddler Left Outside Bar

Paediatrician Suzanne Wills, 37, has been charged with neglect after reportedly leaving her toddler son outside a bar strapped into a bike trailer on a freezing night.

Ms Wills and her surgeon partner, Graeme Smith, were attending a music festival folk festival on the Hebridean island of Jura when they allegedly left their three-year-old son outside whilst they were in a hotel.

A passer-by called the police after spotting the little boy on his own whilst his parents were in the bar at 10pm.

The couple have now been charged with neglect and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal who will decide whether to take further action. If found guilty, the couple could face prison and their son could be taken into care.

Ms Wills and Mr Smith, from the Renfrewshire village of Kilbarchan, in Scotland, claim the whole affair was a 'misunderstanding' and issued a statement saying: 'We love our son dearly'.
